Heather Hax and Justin Timothy Temple believe yoga is a mental and spiritual as well as physical practice. They also believe that a yoga practice offers practitioners tools to build a better world.

The Teachers

Heather Hax

Heather Hax has been practicing yoga since 2001 and teaching since 2006. Because of the benefits she has received from practice, she believes that yoga is a tool for self-empowerment and healing. She currently studies with Jen René, David Keil, and Christine Hoar. In 2014, she completed Richard Freeman’s month-long teacher intensive. Later that year, she completed the Ashtanga Dispatch 9-month intensive. Heather’s approach to practice and teaching is to cultivate abhyasa (practice and the discipline to keep coming back) and vairagya (letting go of the fruits of one’s effort). She believes the best teacher is the practice itself.

Justin Timothy Temple

Justin Timothy Temple was instantly drawn to yoga after being pulled, hooting and hollering, into his first class at the bidding of his friends over a decade ago. In the years since, he has devoted incalculable amounts of time, energy, and keystrokes in Google to the study of yoga. Justin strives to increase awareness, education, and inclusive access to the practice. He teaches yoga in the same way that he has learned it–by applying yoga techniques to each student as an individual and then providing them the space to explore. His goal for every student is for them to simply love their practice. Currently, Justin cites Jen René and David Keil as his sources of information on the practice.
